Trainers’ meeting in Athens: check!

At the end of May 2024, CLAP! partners met up in Athens, and took along in their luggage facilitators and trainers who are deploying film projects with their public of vulnerable adults thanks to CLAP! It was a fascinating meeting, and a rich exchange of experiences.

The highlight of the CLAP! project: a rare opportunity for trainers to share their experiences in the real world, in Lisbon and Sintra, Athens and its suburbs, Brussels and Liège.

  • On the projects they have initiated with their groups of adults, on their needs, on the themes that mobilize them.
  • On the realities experienced in different contexts by so-called “vulnerable” groups.
  • On the “best practices” developed to meet the challenges of collective filmmaking.
  • On the experiments carried out thanks to Module 3 of CLAP! the “Toolkit”. Thanks to feedback from the pros, this can be enriched and finalized by the partners.
  • On the opportunities for promoting productions as part of an activist approach. The team was able to start thinking about this complex issue: how can we give visibility to an amateur film, so that it contributes to changes in society?

The group also had the opportunity to discover “the second chance school”: a place dedicated to the long life education of adults, in the specific context of the Kallithéa district. Various groups were able to present the progress of their collective film projects.

Needless to say, the whole team ended with heads full of ideas for new film projects, close to the needs of Lifelong Learning audiences.
