“À Films Ouverts” anti-racist Short Film Contest is open!
Are you concerned about racism and intolerance? Would you like to highlight a positive vision of interculturality? Then express yourself by taking part in the 19th edition of the “À Films Ouverts” competition, and perhaps attend a screening of your film across Wallonia and Brussels from March 13 to 30, 2025.
By giving a voice to citizens and associations, the “À Films Ouverts” competition is a key event for expression and creativity around diversity and the fight against racism. The 2025 edition of the SHORT FILM COMPETITION is now open.
Through this competition, Média Animation invites those who have something to say, to tell, to show about tolerance, living together, intercultural dialogue, the fight against prejudice… to express themselves. An opportunity to react to discrimination and intolerance.
What makes it original? It’s not only to encourage original creations and achievements, but above all, to ensure their wide dissemination through some twenty “Public Vote” sessions in several towns in Wallonia and Brussels.
Several prizes (of varying amounts) may be awarded to the films selected for the competition: the “Coup de coeur” and “Coup de poing” prizes awarded by the public at the À Films Ouverts Festival (determined over the course of the twenty or so public screening sessions, with the support of RTBF, french public service television), and the À Films Ouverts Jury Prize (awarded at the closing session in the presence of the jury on March 30, 2025).
Participants are asked to produce a video on the theme “For interculturality, against racism”, lasting no more than 5 minutes. The competition’s originality lies in the fact that it’s open to everyone (you don’t have to be a seasoned professional to enter), and that it’s open to a variety of genres (documentary, fiction, animation, reportage…).
