But why advocacy and activism?

Advocacy and activism go hand-in-hand in driving change. Advocacy is about supporting a cause and influencing decision-makers to take action—whether it’s raising awareness, speaking out, or mobilizing others. Activism takes it a step further with direct action like protests or social media campaigns.

Both are key to shaping policies, holding those in power accountable, and empowering communities. Advocacy gives a voice to important issues, while activism makes sure that voice is heard loud and clear.

Examples in Action:

Advocacy: Sending petitions to decision-makers, meeting with local officials to talk about affordable housing, or starting a social media campaign to bring attention to education issues.

Activism: Hosting a community event or rally to raise awareness of an important cause, or leading a peaceful protest to demand justice for marginalized groups.

Both advocacy and activism are the driving forces behind creating lasting change—and together, they’re unstoppable!

What’s advocacy?

Advocacy is the act of supporting a cause or idea and working to influence decision-makers to create change. It involves speaking out, raising awareness, and mobilizing others to take action.

Advocacy plays a crucial role in shaping public policy, raising awareness of important issues, and holding decision-makers accountable. It empowers individuals and communities to have a voice in the issues that affect their lives.
